With your donation, The Merwin Conservancy can protect the land, living legacy and literature of W.S. Merwin. Donations will support land and home acquisition and conservation, research and cataloging of over 800 palm species, and future study and retreat for writers and botanists.

As Edward Hirsch says of Merwin, “He has created a body of literature that is unprecedented in our age. I feel lucky to be alive at a time when W.S. Merwin has been creating his startling and incomparable work.” And alongside his poetry, Merwin has planted one of the most comprehensive palm forests in the world; he is credited with saving at least one palms species from extinction through his land stewardship.
